Review Weebly : I Am So Done!

weebly1

I began using Weebly last year for a certain project of mine. It started off nicely when I still had my laptop. I could create a free website with its drag and drop feature. Little that I know that this feature will be the downfall of this website, at least in my eyes.

After my laptop was kinda broken, I chose to switch almost all my works on my Android tablet, including my project in Weebly. This was when Weebly started to become so annoying.

Its drag and drop feature made me almost impossible to post something easily. I don’t know why, but it seemed so “heavy” in my Android tablet. I tried almost every top-notch browser available, such as Google Chrome, Dolphin, UC browser, Baidu Browser, etc but I still couldn’t use Weebly properly. Okay, I could post some writings (letters only!) but with VERY MUCH DIFFICULTY and I even couldn’t upload image at all on my posts, while image is important for my project. But what I loathe so much is the front page feature.

Since the “drag and drop” is supposedly its remarkable feature, the front page design also has the same thing BUT it is OVERLY SENSITIVE OVER TOUCH, where some accidental gestures can make all things go haywire. And the most horrible things of all, even the smallest change in front page edit is DIRECTLY SAVED!

That is soooo bad because I almost can’t count how many times I accidentally moved everything with a simple gesture and my front page suddenly looked like a mess, while the whole world could directly see my amateur editing. It is really embarassing! At least give a feature whether we want front page edit to be published or not.  You can make that “publish” button in post, Weebly, why can’t you make it in front page!

Done with the website version, then I tried to download the Android apps, but still felt pretty much dissappointed.

Firstly, I have some “blogs” in my Weebly website and this application only allowed me to edit and create post for ONE blog of mine! What the heck is that?!

Secondly, I have to connect continuosly to internet to post something. Oh poor little thing, don’t you know that tablet battery doesn’t last forever? It is such a hassle to work while connecting online nonstop! Writing a post can take a long time sometimes you know? And don’t make me charge while writing, that is a pain in the ass!

Thirdly, if the internet connection was not good then I would be interrupted every now and then. And I must say, NOT ANYMORE, THANK YOU!

That is why I rated this apps with one-star.

I am so done using Weebly! Won’t use it anymore in the future project! WordPress is much more convenient and a better choice for me. I can write posting offline, upload tons of image in a simple browser with so much ease, also it has a nice mobile apps where I can edit all my blogs in one account. This is a blog/web provider SHOULD do, making user’s life easier, not making it more complicated! My next project will go to WordPress without a doubt!

So, that is my experience using Weebly. You can take it as a reference whether you want to use this website or not. Me? Not. Ever. Anymore.

Period.
